NBCUniversal: ‘Search For a Local Bravo Host’ Announcement Party

Hollywood comes to New Zealand with glamorous media event

Bravo, the premier lifestyle and entertainment brand, launched a nationwide search for a New Zealand host – an individual that would be perfectly-placed to represent Bravo locally, and have a regular presence on the channel. The network called on Because to create and produce a spectacular announcement event epitomising the Bravo brand that would build intrigue and excitement around the identity of the new host.

Because needed to find a way to successfully bring together key media, influencers and Bravo executives to celebrate and reveal the winner of the local host search with a memorable and magical event. The challenge was to bring in simple yet effective elements to engage with the audience and create a buzz. The announcement needed to feel truly remarkable – a fitting finale at the culmination of a successful search.  

We brought Hollywood to New Zealand with a cocktail-style event that felt exclusive and unique to Bravo. Held at The Quay Project, we gave the venue a modern and cool design with a navy and gold colour scheme and key New Zealand elements to create a glamorous yet local feel. Guests were made to feel like superstars with their very own professional photo shoot in a stylish TV set, while waiters served delicious canapés and champagne cocktails. Two large screens around the stage area provided event host, popular TV presenter Dominic Bowden, with the perfect platform to introduce Bravo’s  Andy Cohen via video to announce Cassidy Morris as the winner. George FM’s DJ Clint played out top party tunes for the rest of the evening.
This was a slick event that was perfectly on brand for Bravo and seamlessly delivered in a tight timeframe. Carla Dawson, NBCUniversal’s Senior Marketing Manager, said: “The guests and our executives alike were thrilled with how everything looked and loved the venue.”
