A blockbuster event launching a mega media-house merger and all their exciting business updates for Warner Bros. Discovery NZ.

In April 2022, Discovery NZ very quietly became Warner Bros. Discovery NZ. The merging of these two awesome media companies put a huge number of channels and properties under one epic umbrella; five national, free-to-air television channels, eight pay-TV channels on Sky and the Newshub service to name a few.
They asked us to help them create a blockbuster ‘Upfront’ event. These are key events on the media channel calendar – a way to introduce clients and agencies to the new offerings the company and channels have to offer for the year ahead – and in this instance, also launch Warner Bros. Discovery to NZ.

On the guestlist would be media moguls and industry bigwigs. This would certainly not be their first media-soiree rodeo, so we had to produce an event that would be both seamless and professional to land the business messaging, but with a fun twist that would engage this ‘I’ve-seen-it-all’ audience.
Introducing…
“Welcome to Our World” – the official introduction to the world of Warner Bros. Discovery for 2023.

The event was hosted in the trendy and industrial ‘Shed 10’ on the Auckland waterfront, and was split into two parts, with part 1 being all business. A slick presentation with outstanding visual content (obviously) showcased Warner Bros. Discovery NZ’s properties and the awesome opportunities on offer for advertisers and the industry.
Part 2 was all about the entertainment! Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman had the great responsibility of revealing a secret tunnel. Guests were lured into the mysterious entranceway by captivating beats from DJ Murry Sweetpants and the Shoulder Rubs. When they emerged, they were welcomed into the epic neon-lit “Warner Bros. Discovery World”.

The Warner Bros. Discovery Eatery, the ‘Local’ Fish and Chip Shop and the THREENOW Pick & Mix Lolly Bar ensured our guests’ stomachs were lined. The EDEN Wine Bar and the THREESPORT Sports Bar delivered the liquid goods. And a KnackWorld Photobooth and Games Alley – complete with Warner Bros. plushies to be won in the claw machine – ensured all were entertained.

Inside this action-packed Warner Bros. Discovery World, (potentially cynical) guests let their guards and their hair down. The business messaging was landed, the guests had a great time, and we had one very happy client. And that’s all (that matters) folks.
