When you look back on history, it’s clear that change and equality is achieved when we all band together.
For the fourth time, we worked together with Woolworths Group to create a joyful and engaging activation at Fair Day 2022, Sydney’s most vibrant and free LGBTQ+ community event of the season.
The Mardi Gras 2022 theme “United We Shine” expresses how the LGBTQ+
community has come far, but still faces many challenges. This, coupled with the event’s fairground and carnival theme, inspired a sparkling Rainbow Runway activation that gave every visitor a chance to strut their stuff in front of an pumped crowd. As they charmed the catwalk, an LED screen displayed uplifting messaging while a variety of drag queen and drag king MCs and DJs brought the party vibe.
Of course, no runway is complete without paparazzi, so a content team captured every moment and created engaging GIFs with rainbow filters, which the fabulous runway stars instantly shared on their socials. Josh Dufficy, Account Manager for Because, remarked “We wanted to create an inclusive, shareable experience that highlighted the individual but also brought the community together.”
Ultimately, the Rainbow Runway had a fun, free and important message: whoever we are, whoever we love, we deserve to be celebrated in bold, bright and beautiful style.
