Multimedia tours turn New York into a living stage

By Joss Davidge | 2012-02-10

Calling itself "the hottest new attraction in New York city" experience tour bus The Ride offers tourists a novel way to see the sights.

The customised bus sits customers in stadium style seating facing out to the city streets. The tour then reveals a variety of performers as it cruises through the city, whilst heightening the experience with enthusiastic tour guides and blasting them with music and flashing lights!  Quite a change from an open top bus tour and certainly an interesting new way technology is being used for tourist attractions in a city. Recently we've seen GPS audio guides and augmented reality apps bringing sightseeing into the 21st century.  As tourism is a huge money maker for urban areas we're interested to see what's next!
