Fascinated with people’s motivations and behaviour, Ivo likes to connect the theory with practice.
Ivo started his career in 2008 by joining a media agency network. He admits he was drawn to the intersection of entrepreneurship and communication; Ivo instantly knew he’d found his place.
As a strategist, he believe’s his job is to help brands understand the conscious and subliminal needs of their audience. That is the secret for creating things people love. It is also what keeps him excited about working in strategy.
When he’s not working, his family and friends are everything, he tries to spend as much time with them as possible. Ivo has a passion for travelling and snowboarding, his ideal getaway would include both.
1. Which campaign in your career are you most proud to have worked on?
I was very proud of our latest work for Internet Matters. We created a TV spot to raise awareness about balancing children’s screen time. Young people are increasingly spending more time with their devices and it is important to find the right balance.
2. Which person, dead or alive, would you love to have dinner with?
Carl Jung. His contributions to our understanding of human nature are simply mind boggling. He helped to set the foundations on which a lot of modern science is built upon.
3. What show are you currently bingeing on Netflix? And what makes it so ‘bingeable’?
I don’t really watch TV shows; I prefer books. I’m currently reading Jennifer Doudna’s “A Crack in Creation”. It talks about the author’s discoveries in gene editing and her personal struggle with trying to limit the potential dangers of this technology. It is an amazing story.
4. What’s your go-to drink? And why?
I can’t live without my cup of coffee in the morning.
5. Name one thing on your bucket list
Visiting Japan. I am planning to tick that off in 2020.
