Claire is a foodie extraordinaire. Nomadic adventurer. Star baker. And last, but not least: marketer with a magic touch. Meet Claire, team Because’s latest legend.

You’re going to have to bear with us: we’re going to brag a little. Our diverse teams around the world are filled with epic people. I mean, inspirational, charismatic, talented – you name it, the Because family has got it in spades. Our success relies on our culture, and that’s all due to our people. We’re constantly on the lookout for more good people to add to our creative and crazy mix, and best of all, we’re getting them.
Case in point: Claire. She’s upbeat, radiant and brilliant at what she does. We know she’s going to be a huge asset for our clients, but that’s just the start. Claire brings a whole new flavour to our Australian office, and we hope that’s going to be a literal benefit too. “I love cooking and testing out new recipes at home,” says Claire. “I definitely went through the baking phase during lockdown. Bread, Portuguese tarts, lemon meringue, crepes – you name it, I made it!”
Culinary skills are just one of Claire’s fortes; she’s also gifted in uncovering hidden foodie gems. “I love going out and trying new restaurants and cocktail bars with my family and friends,” explains Claire. “There’s heaps of places I love going to and my partner and I have a list of fine dining restaurants we’re planning on going to.” Claire even has a Insta account to help her keep track of what and where she’s eating (fair warning: it will make you both hungry and envious).
Outside of food, Claire can be found either making a star performance for her local field hockey club or planning her next global escape. “I love travelling. In 2019, I went to Spain, Japan, and Singapore before we went into lockdown; I tried to pack in all the travel I could,” says Claire. “I can’t wait to hop on a plane again… I have my eyes set on South America or Europe for another big trip and Fiji or Bali for a quick little getaway that’s not too far from home with my family.”
On the note of family and friends, they describe her as “bubbly, outgoing and a big foodie”. We’re super lucky to have the talented Claire join our team, and we can’t wait to discover more of her foodie advice and travel tips (and taste test her baking creations)! To get to know her a little better, we asked her our five signature get-to-know-you questions.
1. Which campaign or role in your career are you most proud to have worked on?
I’m proud of working on the AV TV Launch for Samsung Electronics. This year Samsung launched over 12 TVs and soundbars in Australia. As part of this, I helped with the event activation for the launch of the TVs for the dealer events in Sydney and on the digital side by helping localise content and images for the product pages on Samsung.com. It was one of the first big clients and campaigns I’ve worked on, so it was really enriching and interesting to understand the process from concept to implementation.
2. Which person, dead or alive, would you love to have dinner with?
I would love to have dinner with Halsey. She’s such an incredible and diverse artist and a great role model for my generation and future ones. She’s always pushing the limits with her artistic direction and is a big advocate for social justice.
3. What show are you currently bingeing? And what makes it so ‘bingeable’?
I’m currently binge-watching Someone Feed Phil – Phil was the writer of Everybody Loves Raymond. I love the show because I believe food is the heart of every culture. Phil travels all over the world and tries different cuisines, both fine dining and traditional home-cooked meals, and all made by the locals he meets along the way.
4. What’s your go-to drink? And why?
Definitely a G&T. Refreshing, herbal and light – no wonder it’s a classic.
5. Name one thing on your bucket list.
I’d love to travel all around South America and learn more about the culture, the language, and, of course, the food! I’ve been learning Spanish at Uni as part of my international studies degree, so I’d love to put it into practice and explore countries like Peru, Argentina and Venezuela.
