Hyundai caused quite a stir when it revealed an animatronic wall, dubbed the Hyper-Matrix, at the 2012 Yeosu Expo.
We have seen this effect before, but created virtually using projection mapping or augmented reality. The three walls visible in the video are covered in computer-controlled pistons that move a wall of Styrofoam blocks. The patterns it created were stunning and you can hear the gasps from the audience - it's certainly an experience they are not going to forget quickly.
