Drones get into formation in guerrilla stunt
Above the London skyline last Saturday, a small fleet of unmanned drones formed the Star Trek logo in a first of its kind we can think of marketing stunt that has set chins wagging.
The 30 "quadcopters" created a 90 metre tall version of the logo as part of the WWF Earth Hour, an annual "switch-off" stunt designed to highlight the need for action on climate change. The drones were sent skyward by Paramount Pictures in a bid to promote the new Star Trek film due out later in the year. We are sure this isn't the last we see of unmanned drone-marketing, although a catchier name is possibly needed.
