Nike creates live limited edition designs for AF1
2013 is the 30th year of Nike’s iconic Air Force One trainers.
The shoes have taken many guises since 1983, beyond its use as sports wear the trainers have been linked with street culture, art, music and fashion. To help celebrate, Nike hosted an experiential event where street dancers performed on an interactive surface. Wherever they touched a burst of designs appeared on the surface. These were then transferred onto blank original design Air Force One trainers and sold as limited editions at the event.
With nearly 30 years of marketing experience, both client and agency side, I’ve acquired a rare perspective on brands and business: I believe you have to challenge things creatively if you want to grow sales. Consumer technology is reshaping our world, and it’s only the great brands that stay on the crest.
