A tour of Melbourne with a remote control tourist

By Joss Davidge

Earlier in the year we looked at San Pellegrino’s robotic tourist that allowed people to wheel their way round Sicilian streets, imagine the sun on their face and interact with locals.

Victoria Tourism in Australia has gone one better with this fun campaign designed to give people a taste of life in Melbourne by giving them control of a willing participant.  People could control the tourists from home using Twitter and Facebook – getting them to try food, walk around areas, visit tourist hotspots and generally experience the city.  It is a nice idea with a fun approach.
