In 2023, AGL unveiled its new brand campaign, “Join the Change”. This campaign encourages customers to actively participate in AGL’s pursuit of a low-carbon future. As part of this commitment, AGL offers a diverse range of products and services designed to support customers to decarbonise the way they live, work and move. 

While brand campaigns are essential, the real impact is felt when theory transitions into practice or when rubber meets the road. This belief led AGL to demonstrate its latest EV and home renewables offerings at the Melbourne Electric Vehicle Show (MEVS) 2023, with Because overseeing the concept, design, and production of AGL’s exhibition stand. 

Up until 2023, Australia has seen a comparatively slower uptake of EVs. However, since then, the demand for battery-powered vehicles has skyrocketed, as evidenced by record-breaking sales in 2023 and an influx of new EV models in the Australian market. 

MEVS 2023 was the perfect blend of old-school motor show vibes and cutting-edge car tech. Amidst the shiny cars and futuristic designs from brands like Audi, McLaren, and Hyundai, AGL stood out. Their exhibition stand, illuminated in blue and designed like an abstract garage, was a beacon of warmth and information in a sea of chrome and polish. 

The stand was all about helping customers understand how AGL could make their EV dreams a reality. The main attraction? An AGL-branded Tesla Model Y, complete with a hologram showcasing the range of electric vehicles available through AGL’s electric vehicle subscriptions. 

But it wasn’t just about the cars. AGL knows that going electric is a big step, and there’s a lot to consider – like how to charge your new ride at home. That’s why their charging wall, displaying a range of hardware charging products, was such a hit. Staff were on hand to answer questions, and a dedicated section for AGL’s EV energy plan and EV subscription offerings helped visitors figure out the best way to get into an EV and power their new wheels. 

And let’s not forget about the fun stuff. AGL’s stand had a recharge zone with free popcorn and energy drinks, and a clever sunshine themed mini-golf game in the solar battery solutions section. 

All in all, AGL made a powerful impact at MEVS 2023. They didn’t just showcase their products and services; they showed customers they were serious about supporting them on their journey to a more sustainable future.
